Twins Megan and Jessy live in a secluded lodge at a woods' edge. Tom finds the lodge and sees Jessy. He becomes attracted, and uses an excuse to enter in the house. A sudden thunderstorm forces Tom to ask for hospitality. Megan confesses that her twin Jessy was raped by a band of stragglers. She's become a "circus act" exhibited by the media and she never recovered from the shock.
