Storyline
The film follows Pink on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, as she balances being a performer with her role as a mother, wife, and boss. It mixes footage from the road, behind the scenes interviews, and personal material. On the tour, Pink played 156 shows in 18 countries. She travels by a private jet with her husband (Carey Hart) and 2 children (Willow Stage Hart and Jameson Moon Hart).
She is in Amsterdam, 20 days to go to the massive concert at Wembley stadium in London, the biggest on tour. She has to rehearse before every performance. Moms give up careers (they stop touring) after having kids as it's just easier for men to walk out the door and not look back. But Women can't do that (they worry about the kids all the time, to a point where they can't sleep). Pink is dragging her family all over the world as she believes they are making memories together. She wants her fan to enjoy her shows, and her kids to enjoy their time together. She is killing herself to do both. Pink's parents were divorced, and her father took her to her first stage performance. She wasn't exciting. But deep down she knew that she was on her way to becoming this huge star. Dad was very encouraging and told her not to care about what anyone thought. every performance has to be meticulously thought through, right down to the color and details of the costumes. She takes her family to all her rehearsals. She kept a journal every day she was pregnant. At first the kids idolize their parents, who love them unconditionally. And then the parents fall from grace, with kids realizing that their parents are mere humans, with their own flaws etc. You struggle through that for 10 yrs, and then the kids become the parents for their parents. In between the rehearsals and the shows, Pink spends precious time with her kids, and parenting them. Singing and dancing on stage are 2 different things and it's very hard to do them both together. She is the boss on stage and has to decide what happens step by step. She had to lead by example to get people to respect her. She is very hard on herself and wants people to always get their money's worth. Post show she goes over all the things that went wrong, or could be better, with her team. She discusses the stage design that makes her run for 2 hours, up and down the ramps. She suggests design changes to the stage, to make the whole show work better for her and for the fans. But the new stage design might not be approved by Wembley stadium. Changes are approved by Wembley eventually. 15 days to Wembley. The troupe moves to Manchester. Willow wants to attend summer camp and asks for permission to go back home for a week and rejoin the tour later. Willow is a sensitive girl, but free spirited. She feels neglected around Jameson. Jameson is a walking, naked loose screw. Equally committed to his anger and joy. Pink's mom saved her money and took her to the opera. Most of Pink's stage designs are inspired by her learning from that experience. Her parents supported her with singing, gymnastics, and taught her to work harder. Pink got inspired in gymnastics after a Cher concert and decided to be the first singer who can do both on stage. It quickly became her thing. When kids get sick, she has to stay away so that she doesn't get sick on tour. 8 days to Wembley and the troupe lands in Cardiff. Carey and Pink have been together for 19 yrs. He supports Pink fully and Pink appreciates that she doesn't need to stoke his ego as much. Carey is an incredible dad and very patient. He complements Pink fully. Carey was a dirt bike champion before he married Pink. Pink likes the continuity on her team. She doesn't audition new people. She encourages people who are better than her to be with her on stage. Her kids gel well with her entourage. She is personally invested in the well-being on her staff. She has had injuries on stage, while doing the gymnastics stuff. Media appreciates that Pink is all about hard work and dedication to her craft. which has made her overcome insurmountable odds like divorced parents and a generally indifferent society. Her fans love her for being different and for being a role model to those who don't fit. Without knowing Pink has touched millions of lives around the globe. 2 days to Wembley and Pink travels to Brussels and then back to London. Wembley is on. 1:30 leave for venue, lunch with the family on the bus. Practice at the venue. 4 30, hair and makeup. She does her own hair. Vocal cords practice. 7 15, physical warm-ups. 80K people in the stadium. A little team prayer before the show. 8 20 pm, drive to the stage. The show is a massive hit. After the show, Pink still spends time chasing around Jameson and trying to be a good mother to him. Carey leaves with Willow to take her to summer camp. Alecia Beth Mooney. The film is produced by Michael Gracey and Isabella Parish, with Luminaries, Silent House, and Lefty Paw Print.
