Storyline
A couple arrive at a hostel to stay the night, greeted by a gruff and rude owner, in the style of a air bnb. After renting a room, their horrors soon begin when a man in clown makeup (Which he wears for the duration of the film) who strongly resembles the owner, assaults and renders both the guests unconscious.
In the style of a truly plausible human trafficking front the clown (The Manager) undertakes the task of keeping them on site, restrained, and drugged as he grooms yet another set of tenants for sale. Of course, the two need to be trained first, by the clown and his own mute and faceless assistant. The two are given classic submissive designations as "The Doll" and "The Dog". She undergoes paralytics, vaginoplasty, and hysterectomy, all in order to make her body and face move as doll like as possible. While he is trained on all fours, with a mask, even being trained to "release himself" through forced arousal, as a dog would. While this breaks him, the doll has nothing to do but sit, wait, and think of ways to survive her ordeal before things become any worse. Their plot to escape leads to a serious punishment, on the eve of the holidays, just before they are to be announced officially. In a scene reminiscent of the auction in "Get Out" and the training/party in the infamous "Starless- Nymphomaniacs Paradise", their graduation present is to be put up for sale in front of a number of anonymous guests. Guests known by reputation who make it clear the two will likely be separated by the different roles they are groomed for, produce bids in "units". This leads one to only speculate both the nation in which this occurs or whether the amounts they are talked about are in hundreds, thousands, or some other secret currency. After the eloquent speech by the auction master, we are led to a surprise twist, as obvious to some, as completely mind blowing to others, When the highest bidder for the doll turns out to be none other than the clown himself. This serves to make it clear that despite his position and power, he is still an employee and bound by the rules of his society. Upon confessing his love for her and desire to find a way to make her happy, she takes the opportunity to escape with her husband.. Which makes sense as this film is framed as a documentary style interview with the survivor of this ring.. Where scenes from present day set up the unfolding events which occurred in a prior date, labeling her a survivor. WE are treated to a closing scene where she bathes her dog husband and begins to cry as she sees some elements of his humanity returning to him, though by no means is he anything close to OK.
