Storyline
With her mother having passed away earlier in the year and her father having abandoned the family when she was a child leaving her no longer with any family, music teacher Carly Bridges, with nothing keeping her in her hometown of Philadelphia, accepts a temporary job over the Christmas holidays in small town Waterford Creek.
The town's pastor and his wife, John and Susan Shepard, found Carly's resume online and hired her to prepare the church choir for their Christmas Eve services. Carly discovers that the choir is comprised of individuals who sing as individuals, so her job is to make them sing as a choir. Also arriving in Waterford Creek is hometown boy Matthew Wheeler, who is returning home to civilian life after finishing a five year stint in the military. He has his civilian life mapped out in Waterford Creek, including buying and renovating a house, preparing to work as a firefighter, and hoping to get the nerve to tell his platonic childhood best friend, the Shepards' daughter Jenny, that he has romantic feelings for her. Both Carly and Matthew may discover that the best laid plans have a way of changing as Carly discovers that her being in Waterford Creek is not by chance.
