The images are breathtaking, the scientific information about the flora and the fauna is well-balanced, and the music has been specially composed for the film. These are the factors that explain the unusual success of the production. Shot in some of the most biodiverse places in Europe, the documentary helps us see differently a continent that we thought we knew everything about. Produced by Auchan Retail Romania, Off the Fence and The European Nature Trust, the film has two versions. The English version, narrated by actor Mark Strong, premiered on 18 March 2018 in Washington, at one of the most important ecological film events in the world: The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital. Three days later, the Romanian version, voice-overed by Victor Rebengiuc, opened at the National Theatre in Bucharest, which hosted a gala screening with 800 guests. The documentary entered Romanian cinemas on 13 April 2018. An exceptional event followed in London, with the prestigious B. A. F. T. A. (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) hosting a screening on 9 May. Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Google Play and Vimeo released "Untamed Romania" on 13 August 2019.
