Chasing Mavericks (2012)

Determined to ride the towering waves of the famous surfing location known as the Mavericks in northern California, teen longboard star Jay Moriarity approaches his idol: the troubled local surf legend Frosty Hesson. However, with the deadly, 20-foot-plus waves reappearing in less than 12 weeks, learning how to survive the unforgiving Mavericks is a next-to-impossible task. As Jay and his mentor embark on a challenging, time-sensitive mission of endurance and self-awareness to achieve perfection, ties of friendship gradually form, inspiring the ambitious young surfer to push the limit.
